STOCK SALES. At- the Temuka sale on Tuesday about half a dozen buyers attended and one'pen of wethers was disposed of at 15s 9d. At Washdyke on Tuesday there was only a .small-. yarding. The demand, was good, and- keen" competition brought up good prices; one pen of wetbeis, on account of 3lr J. Kelman, realised 23s 9d. • ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. Per Press" Association. ' Sheep. —-There were only a few pens each of hoggets and wethers in the store .pens. Hoggets were in good demand, and 6old- at rather firmer rates, good aad forward sorts making 10s 6d to 12s, Id, and small &3d to 9s. The lines were mostly inferior sorts, and ! not up to the class that were enquired for. Brokenmonth lines in lamb 6old at 12t> 5d and a line of sonnd-mouth threequarterbredc. made 17s. There were about 1400 fat lambs penned, and they sold at late rates, tegs making, .17s to 17s 9d, and lighter lis. tol6s lOd. The entry of fat sheep was Hmallpr than, rthe previous week, and competition was confined to the butchers. The supply was not beyond requirements, and prices" aill round were firmer, prime wethers selling at higher rates than for tome time post. The range of prices wW:—Extra prime wethers to 2&, prime 1& 6d "to 235, lighter 14s 6d to 18s, extra prime ewes to 23s 3d, prime 16s 6d '6d,. medium 13s to 16s, light' and aged 9s to 12s 6d, prime merino weth-. ers,lss 3d. Cattle.- —-The entry of fat cattle totalled 297 head of fair average, and included eome;good cows and There was not „6U,ch a keen demand as last week, and-prices were easier, the range being:— 'Steers £6' 5s to £ll 15s, heifers £5 5s to* £9 3s, cows £4 10s to £8 17s 6d, calves 4s 6d.to 555. i Pigs.—There was a small entry of .pigs, and they cold-well, though the demand was not so keen as the week before. Large baconers' made 555, to64s, large porkers and light baconers 4Gs to 5Cs, light porkers' 32s to 38s, large stores 3Ca to 335, smaller 18s to 255; there were no weanera in.
