Grete Brier, a beautiful girl, aged 22, daughter of a former burgomaster, ol Brand, Saxony, has been sentenced, to death for killing Pressler,' her fiancee, at Chmenitz, and forging his will* in her favour, also documents suggesting that he committed . suicide. REPRIEVE WANTED IN ADELAIDE. ADELAIDE, July 2. There was a great agitation to secure the reprieve of Cokman, who shot Constable Rigg, and who will bo hanged today. A crowd of 2000 waited till a late hour-last night in front of J.he Town' Hall in the hope of presenting the Governor, who was attending a concert, witli a resolution in favour of mercy, but the effort to see the Governor was unavailing. Cokman was executed to-day, death being instantaneous.
