TIMARU CHAMPION STAKE

The- draw for the South Canterbury CouisioK Clubs Champion Stake took place at the Stone Ktablss yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large number of sporting enthusiast.-/ among whom were, visitors from various parts of the Dominion. A few final pavments were to be made but ;w> the owners were not present and no monev forthcoming the dog* named had to be scratched. The stake is valued at £l5O and fifty-three dogs aiv competing for it.
