She had admitted to witnen> that- a man named Wasp, who was living with her in the house, was not her husband. The latter said he had made a partial post morieln examination of the body, and found a trace of inflammation of the intestines. Jan. 8. ■A man named Robert Firms!on was drowned at Awakino to-day. He was bathing with his brother and it is thought was seized with cramp. His brother endeavoured to save hull but- was twice dragged under and had to relinquish the task, reaching shore himself ill an exhausted slate. Firmston was a single man. and aged 25 years. C'HRI ST CHURCH. Jan. 3. Charles T.a Crraw. cook at Benmore station, died this morning in the Springfield -to -Christchuroli train. He complained' yesterday of i-eve:e internal pains.' but remedies used did not re'l-ve him. and it was decided to send him to the Chris ehurrh Hospital. but he died ~s stated.
