TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of.the IKemuka Roacl Board was held yesterday. Present Messrs John Talbot (-chairman). &• W -\rm;fa< T e, W. Hide. P. C-oira, and \Y. Snell. . Philip, poundkeeper, interviewed the Board with. reference to the practice- of owners of cattle herding them on the roads and asking that he be authorised to take steps to stop the practice. The poundkeeper was instructed to take action against offenders, Correspondence was read from Mr J. A. Young complaining that' contractors were us'.ng one of the Board's reserves at Winchestier ;uia requesting that the xe--serve be> fenced off.—-The 1 clerk was instructed to inform Mr Young that the Board could not see its way to grant- his request as- thei reserve was too small to warrant expense in fencing - it,: but that in future only contractors actually working for the Board ba allowed the use of the reserve. A plan of "Buchanan's Paddock Dram, age District" now open for inspectam was received from the T-evels County Council. , - « \ A memorandum was read from the Geraldine County Council re, the_ proposed new bridge at Winchester, offering to subside the Board to the extent of half the cost of the work. —-Tenders' are to be invited for the bridge in a fortnight s time. ■Memoranda- were received from Mr J. Hay and Messrs Tripp and Holies ton notifying the Board of the 'transfer of a number of rural sections. A letter was Tead from Mr Wm.
