The Admiralty has invited private tenders for the construction of a battleship, also for. propelling machmofiy for !tjwo battleships, the building of which will shortly lie begun at Portsmouth and Devonport. They will be turbine-engin-ed, with a speed of 21 knots. In .connection ••■with' lo new Dreadnought particulars of which were recently cabled, it is now. stated that.jthe 13.5 guns therein •'mentioned are. destined for two BraziMnlu. 21000-ton. battleships, which' are in course of construction at the Elswick and Ballow yards.
