This became richer as the work progressed xui-t-fl." it- now shows in the face of the drive as a thin seam of solid gold in a pure state, no quartz being associated with it. This is believed to be unique in the history of mining in. the Dominion. Nothing like it has been known before in this field. Apparently, the find is likely to prove of great value, as the line -of gold, if extended, will strike Irishman Creek at a spot where many large nuggets '•were found in the early days. The distance, on an angle run from the present workings in No. 7 to the surface, is about 1200 feet. The discovery is creating excitement- locally, and further developments are awaited with keen interest-.
