On the whole the boxing •was not specially interesting. Three of the heats ended within one. minute, less than one round being boxed. All these heats were won on foul--, the audience thus losing its sport. In (lie heavy weight contests victory went to G. Hill, of Now Suolh Wales (11 stone) who met J. Lloyd of Cliristehureli (12 stone), after a minute's brisk boxing, tli-* referee bting of opinion that Lloyd hekl. The bantams who tried conclusions were R.. Cant well, of Queensland (Bst. l£lb) and J. I'.-irker of Canterbury (same weight). After a very short set to the decision went in favour of Parker through Cant.well holding. Tlic feather-weights were F. Fitzjohns New South Wales (Bst. Jib.) and W. Elliott., Timaru (Bst EHiott to declared the winner. In another bantam contest between K. I.usher, New South Wales(Bst. |lb) and V. B. Tracey, Welling! on (B.?t. alb*, decision was given in favour of Lusher. This is the first time Tracey has been beaten in New Zealand, thouch Dickenson defeated him in Sydney. Another feather-weight fight was between V. Rouglisedge, Queensland (Bstf. lljlb.) and A Tresize, Ai-hburton (Bst 131b.), the latter winning.. . In the middle-weight contest C. Hill, of New South Wales, could not draw the weight to meet L. Fktrher, of Wellington. fo A. J. S'■anion, Queensland. (lOs-t 12?lb.) and -J. McDennott, Inverearjnll (list £lb) were the only starters' in this ola.ss.
