THEATRE ROYAL.
FAUST OPKRASCQPE COMPANY. The moving picture performance given last night- by the Faust Operascope 'Company wis ;ui unqualified Emcees."?. Downstairs wry seat was occupied mid the dress circle -was about three-quarters full, r-o that, considering the inclemency of the weather, the- management have, every reason to bs satisfied with their efforts ti> please'the public. Among the pictures, the' scenes from the opera "Faust," received well-merited applause. Thp film is 1800 -feet in length, but it is not too long for a fastidious public. A representation of the- first i<»i match between (lie All Blacks and Australia was also received with applause', which was intensified at the point where Wallace, of New Zealand, was Mien kicking ;i goal. Other good films were- a. scene in (he life of Sherlock Holmes, 1 American firemen at work, the life of the Red Indians, and a number of laughable episodes from real life. Some very good songs were rendered by Miss I/. Fisher, a, talented singer, who, with Mr Wilson, gave a comic sketch. Altogether the programme was well received throughout. The company intend In give a- matinee this afternoon' at 3.30 and another performance this evening, when, with the exception of the football picture, the whole programme will be altered.
POLLARD'S JUVENILE OPERA COMPANY. On Monday evening next, Mr Tom Pollard will iniroduce to Timaru theatregoers', life new Juvenile Opera. Company, of Australian artists, who have been specially picked from the leading Australian Theatres. The opening production. '•Bluebell in Fairyland," is o. dream fantasy, and i* excellently spoken of by the Christchurch Pro*-; in fact, such a success has never before been witnessed. Speaking of the production Ihe Christchurch "Press," .says:—"All the variour, characters worked con amore and with :h completeness and finish in their work, which made Ihe wlmhV production a distinct, artist in kucccss."
