.SCHOOLS' MATCH IvS. The annual mutch between learns representing Tiniiiru unci Waitaki High Schools will be played at the Athletic Grounds this afternoon. A match will also be played by junior tenure from the two schools. Last year the Timaru team suffered defeat by 20 points, but they hope to make a much better showing this year. The Timaru High School first fifteen •is this year composed of practically the same players us last year, and they have been getting plenty of practice in the third grade competition. The Waitaki High School compete in the senior grade at Oainaru, but play three masters and an As these are barred for the inter-schools match, the weight of the visiting fcnm will be considerably reduced while their combination may also suffer. However, juclging on past years, the team ■will be formidable one, especially as they are at an advantage in securing abundance of practice, being pupils at a boardingschool. The matches should be most interesting, and a large attendance of spectators is expected. Invitations to lie present have be?n sent out to ex-pupils and friends of the school. The Waitaki teams, who will be accompanied by 70 or 80 of their school fellows, will iyriye by the 10.55 train,- and will be Entertained at luncheon in the Arcade Cafe at 11.30. The junior match, which Mr H.l Fra-ser will referee, will commence at 12.45. and the senior game, refereed by Mr C. F. Collins. 1.45. The following will represent Timaru High School. In drawing up the fixtures for the first round of the President's Trophy tion at the beginning of the season, the fixtures committea overlooked the fact that- one combination of teams had been omitted. .The following matches have therefore to be played to conclude the first round of the competitions:—High School v. Timaru: Geraldine v. Temuka: Pirates v. Star: Celtic V. Waimate ;'Zingari a bye. These will' be decided on Thursday next.

KUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee was held last evening. Mr- F. O. Watson presided.
