From Meason and Marchaut in reference to a report on the proposed extension 01 the drainage area. A 'fhequa for.. Kites was received from Bryant and Dineen, with a request that the penalty be remitted on the ground that the person who kept their books had not forwarded rate notices to them.—Tho request was declined. An application was received from the Directing of the Technical Classes for the usual donation of £lO, which was granted. A memorandum was received from the Treasury Department "requesting payment of half rear's interest amounting to £35 5s lid. The Captain of the Salvation Army invited the Mayor and Councillors to be present at 'their annual meeting on July 26th.—The. invitation was accepted. A circular was received from Invtrcargill requesting the co-operation of the Council in getting the law so altered that ■each district, had power t<> iix its own statutory half-holiday.—The request was endorsed. Tha report of the Visiting Committee wa.s wad and adopted. A requisition, from a. large number of ratepayers' to have a poll taken on tha question of rating on unimproved values was referred to the borough solicitor to ascertain if it was in order. Accounts amounting to £167 14s 4d were l>;i.xsed for payment, and the meeting terminated.,
