ASHBURTON TEMPERATURES.
To ithe Editor of the Timaru Herald. Sir,—l was somewhat surprised when looking through your local columns this morning on noticing a paragraph in reference -..t0 the climate of Asliburlon. and was particularly struck with a, statement made therein to the effect that- the worst frost experienced in the town during June wa-si one of only four degrees. Now, if you had spent ' but a day in Ashburton during last month you would- at once have proved the incorrectness of this statement. According to the figures appearing in the "Ashburton Guardian" the weather was. a-:s a matter of fact, particularly' cold, and the frosts as registered at he "Domain Weather Station were as follows:—10 deg. on the Ist June, lldeg. on the 3rd, Bdeg. on the sth, 15deg. on the Bth, 10 deg. on the 14th. lodeg. on the 15th, 14 deg. on the 16th, 12deg. on the 17th, 8 deg. on the 18th, 3deg. on the 19th. 9 deg. on the 20th. 17deg. on the 21st,. 10 deg. on the 22nd. 7de<r. on the 23rd, 12 deg. on the 24th, 15deg. on the 25th, 7deg. on the, 26th." 3deg. on the 27th. 5 deg on the 28th. 4deg. on the 29th. and lldeg. on the SCtli.
