A large meeting ■ ofFabiai),s, Independent Labour Party and Women's Labour League, at.Essex Hall, tendered' a farewell to Mr Hughes.. . ."- Mr, Ramsay MaeDonald,;. the'> president, attributed much, of the British Labour Party's success, to the recent elections, and to the stimulating : influence of, the first Australian Labour Ministry, of which Mr Hughes was a member. Mr Hughes said that' the British-Aus-i.raliau Labour parties were, fighting exnctly. the sarne battle," except that while Australia was the. corner-stone of the Aus>tralian .Labour, policy., he considered that the British party attached too much importance to the fiscal issue. .
