SHOOTING.

PORT GUARDS v. GERALDINE. A team of ten members of the Timaru Port Guards spent Empire Day at Geraldine, in a match with the Gei'aldine Rifles, and besides the pleasure of winuing the match, they were hospitably entertained by th home team. The weather was almost perfect as regards wind, but the angle of the sun at this time of the year made th' lighu very trying at the, long ranges ; and the scores were not up to the average. Sergt. Foster of the Port Guards, made a very creditable score of 96, and Lieut. Gresham, of Geraldine, made 91. lhe Guards won by 34 points. The following areth e scores: PORT GUARDS.
