INSTIGATING A STRIKE, PERTH, May 21. At the Police Court Mr Holman, a member of the Assembly, and two others were fined .on .a charge of instigating. a strike in connection with the timber trade trouble. A stay of proceedings was gi-anted in view of an appeal. THE ARBITRATION COURT. Per Press Association. //WELLINGTON, May 21. The case of the Wellington Labourers' Union v. Huddart Parker and Co. was before the Arbitration Court to-day. This was an application for enforcement, and set out that the award made on November 23rd stipulated that there was to be a supper hour. It is alleged that on June 22nd the men were-; employed, and worked at the steamer Wimmera from 6 p.m. till 12.30 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 1.30 a.m. on June 23rd, without a break. It was argued on behalf of the company that the section did not forbid working thiough meal hours, but men so engaged should be paid overtime.. The Court reserved its decision.
