All the starters except one ran die whole distance, a fact which proves that members are fast getting into form. The handicaps for this event were prepared by B. Culverhouse, and reflected much credit on him. Foi Friday next (Empire Day) a special outing is under arrangement, particulars of which will be given, shortly. TRINITY HARRIERS. Yesterday afternoon the Trinity. Harriers gat off another very enoyable run, with a trifle more variety, perhaps, than on any of the previous, outings this season. The Club, as the guests of Mr A. Bell, Wai-iti road, assembled at 2.30, and a start was made shortly afterwards. The paper bags.were* •entrusted to th. j custody of A. Goldsman and It. Baird, but the" Aveather was either too hot. or they did not. feel too fit, for they • were disagreeably surprised after having run some distance" to iind that the pack wtrd in close pursuit. Recognising their awk-v-ard position they resorted to some broom, and after some j-uocessful and rather ingenious work they made tlvar escape good. The distance would be- close on rive, miles, and the course was via Wai-iti road, and thence close to the Athletic grounds, through the quarry, una this return journey was made over much tli?. same route. Tire attendance was again very satisfactory, and reflects much crsdit on the enthusiasm' each and all of ths members are displaying. At the close of the run, and after the. memb.-r-? had made themselves pre.entable. Mrs Bcil provided very re-fre-shing tea and cakes, which, needless to say, were- greatly relislied by ali. On ths Club's behalf, the captain \D. Glanville) thanked Mr and Mrs Bell for their hospitality. Mr Bell, in acknowledgment, said he wa.s pleased to see so many present that afternoon, and would be glad to hav:- them pay him a return visit. It has b;en decided that the sealed handicap should take the form of an open handicap, particulars of which will be given later.
