Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 6. A. L. Eiby, a young man, committed csuicide with a revolver at Barrett's Hotel this morning. He was cashkr in the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, aud was transferred hero live or six months: ago from Tiuiaru. Deceased left his office on Saturday afternoon, and seemed in a normal state of health -then,. Eiby had until recently ; been in lodgingsi bui't laterly he engaged a room "at Barrett's Hotel. At 7 o'clock this morning the room was empty, though the bed had been slept in, and an hour later .the body was found in the bed with a revolver alongside. The body was fully dressed with the arms crossed, and there was a bullet wound in the right side of the head/ about three inches above' the ear. The weapon was five-chambered, four of the chambers being fully loaded, and one chamber had been discharged. No cause is as yet known for the deed.' ASHBURTON, May 6. A single man named Henry Osborne Glover, aged about 60, was found dead about, mid-day in an empty sample room. H> was a draper by trade, and had been 'thirteen years in the employment of one. firm here. The only relation he is known to have is a brother in Timaru. DUNEDIN, May 6. The District' Coroner conducted an inquiry, at the Hospital this afternoon into tha circumstances surVoundihg' the death of Peter Flannery, a farmer residing at Br-ep Stream, whose injuries were sustained on Friday, 26th April, by a fall from his buggy on the'road between Clark's Junction Hotel and Deep' -Stream bridge. Fhsnnery was, brought in to Duuediri Hospital on Tueidav last, where he succumbed on Fridav- night. He was 38 years of age. -Th's \iuryVi verdict- was that ithe dreeasod met his death by being accidentally throTrn. from bis buggy.
