A STEAMER ON FIRE. United Press Association—Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright. . BRISBANE, May 4. The German - Australian Company's steamer Bielefeld is ,ori fire. The outbreak originated in the copra cargo which is still burning. The .plates on tha port iide are red hot. This morning a hole was cut through the plates and water is pouring in. I'lie steamer is settling down by the stem. i . ■ May 5. The fire was - übdued after burning fifty hours. The principal damage occurred in number 5 hold where 140 . bale,> of wool were damaged by fire "and The loss is roughly estimated at £SOOO. Some plates were buckled.. 1 DANGEROUS DERELICITS. ADELAIDE, May 4. 'The steamer Port Chalmers, entering port from Hull, struck the wreck, of the Norma and the Jessie' Darling and making water in the forehold. The estimate of the damage is unknown.
