CHRISTCHURCH, April- 29 % Trouble is- being experienced by ' the officers of 'the Government in, collecting the fines . imposed' by the .Arbitration Count on the slaughtermen who went out on strike recently at the Islington and Parec-ra freezing works. A fair number of the men nave paid up, but some of them decline to pay or to make what do considered a. reasonable effort to meet the fines by instalments. Every effort has been made to have, matters satisfactorily settled, but in a, minority of the cases without avail so far. It is, therefore, veiy probable that at the next of the Supreme' Court at Timaru and. Christcliurck the defaulters will be cited to before the court to show cause why a writ, of attachment should not be issued' against them.
