THE SOUTH CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD. ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. THE BOARD, in pursuance of the power in that behalf conferred by "The Education Act, 1904," 'hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING of the Householders in every School District of South Canterbury be held on MONDAY, April 22nd, 190*7, at 7.30 p.m., for the ELECTION OF A SCHOOL COMMITTEE for such District for the year ending with the Fourth Monday in April, 1908. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhouse; in each district. The Board further directs that the first meeting of each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the election, and immediately after the election upon the same evening. The Board also calls upon the Householders in each district to send in to the Chairman of the School Committee, in writing, oh or before MONDAY, the 15th April, not later than 8 p.m., ths names of persons being resident householders nominated by them for election, to serve upon the Committee. Such nominations must b ? signed by the proposer and by the-can-didate, and must be in the form set forth in the Schedule to the Act, or to the effect thereof. In addition to such nominations, any householder present at the meeting may nominate any qualified' candidate who consents by word of mouth or by writing to ba so nominated.
