REFEREES' ASSOCIATrON. The annual meeting of tlie South- Canterbury Referees' Association (in conjunction with the Rugby Union) was held in Hutchison's rooms last night. Pi event — Messrs J. Bo&b,'. secretary of the N.Z.R.A.. wrote advising that the annual conference of referees is to be held in Duuedin, commencing on the 29th inst.. and intimated that it was desirable that every Association should be, represented.It was unanimously decided that Mr Thomson should .act as delegate at the conference. The secretary started that fourteen notices had beeii: forwarded with the object of' convening this meeting, to referees -in Geraldiiie. Temuka, Waimate ;ind Tiu]ai'ii. but he had received 110 replies, and expected to see a full meeting. He expressed surprise that- not more were piesent. . - Mr Strachan was nominated as a vicepresident on the N.Z.R. Association. Mr Strachan said he was a, member last year, and he would stand again. •* The meeting flien adiourned till after the annual meeting of the South Canterbury Rugby Union to be held in April.
