Tbs weather was not at all favourable for stock, being cold and raw. .The yarding was small in all lines, and prices showed' little alteration. Cattle—66 head'were yarded, and very few lots sold;' several lines were passed." Per Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, June 27. Sheep—The yarding of store sheep was made up principally of hoggets and ewes, the latter being mostly aged sorts. There was a keen demand for all classes, hoggets selling briskly at advanced prices. There were 3350 fat lambs penned, the bulk being of very moderate quality. Though competition was not so keen the prices were well up to the previous week's rates. Best lots made 17s 6d to 20s, a few extra pens to 23s lid, lighter 15s to 17a. There was a fairly large yarding of fat sheep, but the quality was not so good as the previous week there not being such a large proportion of. halfbred wethers. There were, however, some prime lines of wethers 'and ewes offered and a keen demand was maintained throughout the sale, prime ewes showing a considerable.improvement in prices. The range of prices was—Prime wethers 22s to 255, extra to 38s, lighter 19a to 21s 6d, ! prime ewes 20a to 23sy..extra to 26s 3d, medium 17s to 19s 6d» aged 12a to 16s 6VL Cattle-rThe- OBtofjr- of ;fat cattle totalled 218 head of quality than of late. Best bullocks sold at £9 to £lO, a few extra up to £ll 12s 6d„ good £8 to £8 15s, medium £6 to £7 10s. best heifers £6 15s to £B, best cows £6 to £6 10s. good £5 to £5 10s. light £5 5s to £4 10s. Sheep—ls24 were penned, mostly medium quality ewes and wethers, with an odd pen or two of fine wethers. Competition was keen, and prices for really good wethers showed an advance of Is per head; others were firm at last week's rates. Best wethers fetched 22s 6d to 25s 6d, good wethers 20s to 21s. others to 19s, best ewes 17s to 225, extra to 255, others 13s to 16s. In fat lambs 1272 were penned. There was a good sale, best changing hands at 15s to 17s 6d, extra, to 19s, good 13s to 14s 6d. ! Pigs—Ninety-three were penned, prices being about the same as last weeks. Suckers sold at 7s to 9s, slips lis to 15s 6d, stores 16s to 225, porkers 27s to 355, light baconers 39s to 435, heavy 45s to 525, choppers to 70s. DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET. "Wheat—There is no pronounced change in value or demand. Prime samples are chiefly sought for. Prime milling is quoted at 3s 5d to 3s 6d, choice tuscan 3s 7d, medium to good 3s 3d to 3s 4d, best whole fowl feed 5s Id to os 2d, damaged 2s 8d to ss; sacks extra. Oat*—Not many lines of good to prime are coming forward, so that those to hand have easily found buyers at very fair prices. Prime milling is selling at 2s 4d to 2s 4jd, good to best feed 2s 3d to 2s 4d, inferior to medium 2s Id to 2s 2d; sacks extra. -
