A NEW PHOSPHATIC MANURE.

Under the name of " Linijiiios." a sew phosphatic material has been placed «,n the English market, says "Mark I.anc Express." The advantages claimed for it 'may be briefly stated as follows: 1. A v-ery high put rentage of phosphoric acid and lime, as it is guaranteed to contain 40 to 45 per cent, of phosphate of lime, equal to about 20 ptr cent, phosphoric acid and 55 to 38 per cent, lime. ,2. Quick and lasting lertilising action, the phosphates in it being" in tkree of solubility, and a portion soluble in •water, so that it may be relied on to feed the plant quickly and ltgularly. 3. Fine, dry condition, renderiug it convenient for drilling putpos-;s or f«»r broadcasting. evenly. -* 4. Suitability for mixing with sulpn.ite of ammonia, niunte of soda, guano, potash salts, and ether manures. 5- The price is said to be moderate, and to comp.ire favourably with the price of other phosphatic materials. On soils deficient in lime, for which superphosphate is not suitable, this new fertiliser should be well adapted, particularly for tnrnip cultivation, and it may also be expected to produce excellent results on poor pastures by encouraging and developing the growth of clover.
