SYDNEY, March 16. vA firm of: harvester manufactmers in Xetv York lias written to Sir William, Lyne, asking what inducements would be to them to establish a ;.-.d«ir in Victoria, and manufacture their patent harvester. The machine in question can be sold in Australia for £SO, but if manufactured locally, farmers could obtain it at lees cost. 'Hie firm believe they could out-distance the International Harvester Company, -who are making exorbitant profits. The owners of the patent are willing 1 to allot? a company in Australia, io manufacture machines on payment of a royalty of £1 per machine. A return of imports of machinery into the Commonwealth during: last year showed that they were valued at £2.067.000. Of this amount- £351.000 was for harvcsteis and agricultural implements.
