WAITAKI PLAINS SALE.. ',;■ , There was an attendance of" upwards of JQOO fanners at the sale of the WaitaM Plains stock,'implements,' etc., yesterday by Messrs TDalgety and Co., and Messrs Pyne and Co., at the home station. Thirty ■thousand sheep, as well' as cattle, horses, implements and sundries, were catalogued,. and the .' fame of, Mr Buckley's flock, as wool-growers Lad attracted numerous dealers from Canterbury. The sale is of extra importance inasmuch as,,with, the: Otekaike aale to-day,, it wilT ."practically \ settle the market;for the season. -The : sheep were "taken first, and the price ; which they brought was exceptionally good on the ■whole, considering that at-present .sheep axe supposed to be, back in, ; price. ■tooth haifbred breeding ewes sold at 19s 3d to 19s 6d, and was subsequently placed by the purchaser at a good profit; 4-tooth.do. brought 23s 4d; 6-tooth do., 23s 2d; 8"tooth do., 18s 4d; 6-tooth cross-bred breeding ewes went up to 21s 3d; halfbred wether lambs brought 10s 6d; crossbred ewe lambs 12s 8d to 13s 7d; crossbred -wether lambs, fat "and forward, 10s 9d; fat lambs, 15s; Shropshire crossbred lambs, 10s; fat and forward 4and 6-tooth wethers, 19s sd; 2-tooth haifbred 1 store/ withers, 14s 7d.
