, _ AUCKLAND. February 9. The trial of William. James Southg&te, latter of the Kapairui, "which sank in ths 'harbour in collision -with the Clajmora on : fcha night of December 23, upon a, cliarga of manslaughter in connection, with the deaths of three victims, commenced before Mr Justice Edwards to-day.
