A POLICEMAN SEVERELY PUNISHED.

A Chinese policeman who is ia the employ of the British Municipality at Tientsin, in enforcing the traffic orders on the occasion of Yuanshikai's .visit, lightly touched an outrider with his baton. The municipality, wishing to avoid a repetition of the Shanghai incident, apologised and handed the policeman over to the Chinese, conditional on his being lightly punished.
