Antwerp wool sales on- the 9th and 10th inst. 3075 bales of Argentine will be offered. j The wheat markets are quiet, and prices are practically unchanged. Cargoes were neglected until to-day, when a couple were sold at 32s and 31s 10£ d. Australian, on spot, :355, nominal; New Zealand is unchanged and practically exhausted. The iflbur market is inactive; patents, London, 24s to 24s 3d; Glasgow, 24s 6d to 255. . . The,;bntter market is very firm ; colonial is unchanged; secondaries 110s to 112s. All arrivals are clearing as soon as landed. Danish 'butter is quoted at 126s to 128s. THE CHBISTCHimCH GRAIN : MARKET. ], CHRISTCHURCH, January 5. The;, grain market has been, very dull since "pie holidays, and quotations are the same as on last Friday. One line of about 1000 bushels of pearl and tuscan wheat was sold at 3s 3d on trucks, hut for the most part only trifling sales have taken place. CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. : ; CHRISTCHURCH, January 5. The,.wool sale was continued to-day, when for all classes was spiritefl and prices fully equal to those of the day. Some lots of halfbred passed in at the previous sale sold at an advance: of- to upon the price previously offered. Mount Somers Comeback sold up tto 13d and halfbred up to! 12^d; and E.M., halfbred to 13d, and Waipairav Downs halfbred to 13d. The CuLv-er.&en merino-met with a splendid sale, 7 bale's /making 13d. 10 bales bales 12d, 15 bales ilfd, 25 bales lLjrd, 11 bales/lid, 69 bales of pieces lOd to Hid, ani 5 bales of bellies Another good cjip that sold exceptionally well was Mr- H. J. Harrison's (Methven) halfbred, 114 bales; averaging per lb, and 94 bales of v fleece wool 12fd, the top price being View Hill halfbred sold up to 12|3,; and Heathstoek Corriedale to 12£ d. £
