COUNTRY RICH IX GOLD. United Press Association—Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ADELAIDE, January 4. The Government Geologist, after inspecting the mining districts in the Northern Territory, and putting down bores, reports that although thousands of pomades have been spent in mining, onlv tie surface has been worked. The bores show gold in every case from 300 to 500 feet down. Thefc are also good shows of copper and tin, but it is essentially a. gold couutrr. EXPORT OF GOLD AND SILVER. Per' Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 4. The export of gold from New Zealand la*t year was 500,4560z5, of a value of £2,095,956, which is the largest quasthv sent away since 1871. Since the year 1867 New Zealand has exported 17,14&.63Q05w of gold, valued at £67,250,058. Last month's export of gold exceeded that for December 1904, by about 8000ms. The export of silver last month, was 185,6&50*5. i valued at £18,479. j COAL OUTPUT. WESTPORT. Jamarr A.
