These UE tin uncial societies sent delegates, but as tie Timaru Society-.had been ruled "out at' phristchurch last year because they had by inadvertence not paid their subscription, hp moved that- those delegates -be not. a'-

Disqualifications by societies were dealt with. la ore case, of the painting of a bird's face, the disqualification was endorsed. In the case of painting av single., feather, and by another person than the owner, he moved that; the offence be overlooked, and that was carried. society, and .mjias/, up.; After a long stonawali in its f&vpvix, 1 Jta! ballot was carried, and the first! 4taw gave; Timaru White Wyandottes. There.weie only two championships for pigeons and two fpr canaries, and Timaru in the ballot got tumbler pigeons. The ballot aid not" work out too well,, as-Invercargill got. Plymouth Rocks, aud the delegate said there w;is not one in the towri.( Dunedin got Indian liiinner Ducks'. Both canary champici ships fel'to small societies- in Ota go, and' the one for fantai's to a goldfields towr. Canterbury came out very well in the Indict, llangiora getting Black Orpingtons. Christchurch Brown Leghorns, Ashburtciiv Buff Orpingtons, Timaru White WyaiYdotres, and Timaru had tumblers also. Fixing (he dates for shows gave a good deal of trouble, so many societies wanting their shows

within one- month. He asked for, and -was allotted, 29th and 30t-b Jime. Great interest was taken in the meeting, and the de'egates who were ruled out as unfinancial, were very sore about it. Mr Burns said there ought to be more -championships for pigeons, anly two for these and 29 for poultry was unreasonable. There were about 50 varieties of tumblers, amd only one championship for the lot. The pigeon fanciers should take care to be represented at the .Association meetings in future. Mr Myers, of Christchurch, was elected president, • and the vice-presidents are Invercargill and Tuapeka. men. i ; On the motion of- Mr Blair, Mr Burns was thanked for his action as delegate and for his report. ; Mr Blair gave notice to move at the annual' meeting in Januaiy, to the effect that in future the prizes for each class be 60, 30, and 10 per cent, of the entry money in such class, a'l . subscriptions to the funds io go to the general fund, except donations specially allotted as prizes by the donors, as additions to the percentage prizes. Mr Blair pointed out that under the present system'.of fixed priies an exhibitor can make "sure of making money by s&ndicg Hi four entries,, and 1 he proposed to prevent that. The chairman said Oamaru tried the percentage system, but did not-, persevere with it. Inquiry would be xnade why they discontinued it.
