Q AMARU V., TIMARU. The annual inter-Club match between the Oamaru (Reid street) and Timaru Temns Clubs was played at Oamaru yesterday, the Timaru players going - down by the early train. The weather was very bad for outdoor pastimes, light showers and sunshine being followed by half a gale of wind. Under such conditions both teams were not seen at their best, and really good tennis was out of the question. The game resulted in a win for the visitors byj a very good majority, the win being the first the Timaru Club have had for some years. The match is one that old members of both Clubs look forward to each year with very great pleasure, and has been the means of forming some cordial friendships. The visitors yesterday were very hospitably entertained by the* ladies of the Reid Street Club, at morning tea. at lunch in the pavilion, and at afternoon tea. i Visitors were not so numerous as usual, but the weather was so very bad generally that only enthusiasts faced it.
