ADDESTGTON STOCK MARKET. Per Press Association. ■ CHRISTCHUSCH. Xovember 29~ At the Addiagtoa live stock market there were fair entries of stock to-day, and a 'moderate attendance. Beef was easier in consequence of a large yarding. Pat lambs -were firmer as the supply "was barely equal to requirements, and fat sheep sold at the previous -week's rates. There was.an improved demand for store aethers, and pigs sold rather better than last week. Store cattle met with a fair demand, "Lut dairy cws were difficult te sell.

Sheep—There were about 2000 store sheep yarded, the bulk being shorn wethers, and forMiese there was more enquiry than of and nearly all the lots offered changed hands.. The principal sales were—--92 wethers at 16s 9d. 65 at 16s 4d, 246 at 15s lldto 16s, 139 at 15s lid, 71 at 15s 9d, 200 at 14s 7d, 54 at 14s Id, 374 at 13s Id, 128 mixed sexes at 15s Id, aged ewes and lambs 5s to 7s 7d, 102 merino ewes and crossbred lambs 8s 5d (all counted). There, were only some 180 fat lambs penned which was less than a- third of the previous week's entry. There was barely sufficient for butchers' requirei ments and prices showed some improvement towards the close. The quality of the lamb. : was good. Best sorts made 16s to 18s and others 14s ,10.d to 15s 6d. There was a moderate yarding of fat sheep and supplies not being beyond what butcher? could deal with, there was no change in prices from the previous week. There was a larger proportion of ewes than at late sales. The range of prices, was— Shorn wethers 16s 3d to 21s Bd, prime shorn ewes 17s to 20s, others 12s to 16s 6d, woolly ewe 3 20s to 24s 6d, woolly merino wethers 15s lOd to 18s 9d, shorn prime 15s to 16s 3d. Cattle—The yarding of fat cattle totalled 225 head, the hulk being -of prime quality. The market opened at a decline on the previous week's prices, and bidding became still slacker as the sale went on, but towards the close there was a recovery. Two steers from Mr C. G. Dalgetv (Bottle Lake) made £9 12s 6d and £lO ss, and ! 7 heifers from Messrs Parnhani Bros. (Kaiapoi) £5 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d.. Other steers brought £6 1&? to £lO 103, heifers £5 15s to £3 12s 6d. and cows £5 to £7 2s 6d, equal to 22s to 25s per 1001b. Galves sold at 7s. 6d to 455. There

New week's sale at Addington yards will be held on Tuesday in consequence of the general election taking place on Wednesday. BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. DUNEDIN. November .29. At the Buraside market to-day, 138 head of fat cattle were yarded, only a limited number being really prime. There was a slight advance on last week's rate for prime stock. . Best bullocks brought £lO 17s 6d to £ll ss. extra good £ll 7s 6d to £ll 15s. Of fat sheep 1666 were penned, chiefly good quality shorn wethers. The demand for prime sheep was good, and showed an [ advance of Is to Is 6d on last week. Indifferent sorts were hard to quit. Best wethers brought 27s to 28s 3d, good wethers —24s to 25s 3d. shorn wethers "up to 245, best ewes to 245. Lambs—s3 were penned, and prices ad-' vanced : front" 2s-to 3s .over last week's. ! v DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. Wheat —-There is good demand, and millers, are operating more freely. Medium to good is more readily placed. Prime milling' Velvet and Tuscan 3s 5d to 3s 6d, good to best ; 3s 2d to 3s 4d, inferior to medium 3s to 3s Id, broken 2s 8d to 2s lOd (sacks extra). Oats have been in steady demand, .and the .idea prevails that the top price has not been reached. Prime milling stands a* 2s 2d to 2s 3d, best bright'short'-feed; 2s l£d to 2s 2d, good'to best 2s to 2s Id; sacks extra.
