W. S. Masl:n g.vve Lis second address at Woimate las;. evening, and received a good hearing. The Hon. W. Hall-Jones will address ihe electors of Timaru at the Levels at 8 o'clock this evening. At the Theatie Royal .Mr F. J. Rolleston will give his second address -to the citizens of Timaru. Sir William Steward addressed between 40 and 50 of the electors of Waitaki in the Albury Public Hall oh Friday. He dealt with the questions of land eeulement, education, advances to seftlers,; licensing, local works, new Liberalism, aud .superannuation. At the conclusion of the address a vote of thanks and confidence, moved by 2?r Daniel Angland, seconded by Mr Henay Kidd, was carried unanimous!v. Mr F. R. Flatman addressed a small audience in the Fairlie Hall on Saturday evening. Comparatively few of the Geraldine electors live near Fairlie. bat there wasa good proportion of them in the meeting. Mr Janies Wilson (Allandale), was chosen chairman, and briefly introduced .the candidate, referring to his record in the House and asking for a courteous hearing. Mr Flatman gave an address on mucli the same lines as he had delivered in Temuka, Geraldine, and other parte of the electoral district. At the close, questions were invited, and in reply to one asking what ac- ; tion Mr Fiatmaa would take in regard to the Harvester Trust, he said lie thought local industries should be supported. He! had to do the machinery men the justice! to say that they did not wish action taken j as regards binders, which tney jjcognised were a specialty cf America, but as regards ploughs and other machinery made in the colony, he thought there was no necessity to import. In reply to the question of American manufacturers flooding the market with boots, he thought that the. 22j per cent, duty should be sufficient to keep them out. The local manufacturers must compete by making-as good boots. With regard to making volunteering compulsory, it might be a good thing. He would be more in favour of encouraging rifle clubs. He was in favour of giving a.* commandant full power to manage his department. If a man engaged *to do the work he should be allowed to do it. If lie could not do it he should be sent away. A vote of thanks was passed to the candidate, who, in replying, said he hoped his old friend, Sir William Steward, would have a good hearing on Moaday and be returned at the poll. If returned, Mr Flatman added that he would continue to do his best as the representative, of Geraldine. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting. Per Press Association.

AUCKLAND. November 27. Mr I*. A. Bradley addressed a. most uproarious meeting to-night. The crowd invaded the stage, upsetting the chairman and candidate and the table on io the floor. He was listened to for about a half an; hour, the meeting finally breaking up in darkness and disorder. Tlie crowd handled the candidate roughly; chaired hini through the adjoining hotel into another, and surrounded that building, hooting and yelling, the candidate escaping through a back door. PALMERSTON NORTH. Nov. 27. At a special general meeting of ft lie Farmers' Union on Saturday afternoon, Mr F. Pira.ni, the Opposition : candidate for Palmeiston. was elected as the Farmers' .Union candidate for Palmersion, with only one dissentient. HOKITIKA.
