ST. ANDREWS SALE. . -There was a very- good yarding of sheep atnd cattle, aid attendance good. The sheep market -was good and hoggets (mixed jsexes) sold well. Prices were as follows—iCattle, 1 fat cow at £6 2s 6d; stores; steers, 4 at £1 17s 6d, 2 at £1 16s, 1 .at £3 15s, 1 at £4, 3 at £2; yearlings, ■8 at 255, 4 at 18s 6d; springers, 1 at £4, 1 at £2 15s, 1 at £3 2s 6d, 10 at £2 15s;-springing iheifers, at £2 ss, £2 12s •6d; cows in profit at £4 12s 6d, £5; 1 Jersey bull at 27s 6d, 1 calf at ss: Sheep; 918 were yarded, 7 fat ewes at "14s Sd; 35 ditto (passed), hoggets, 119 ,*fcoin hoggets (passed), 50 shorn hoggets -at- 14s 9d, 146 hoggets (mixed sexes) 19s - 43, 200 ewes and lambs 7s lOd (all counted), talfbred ewes and lambs at 12s 'Bd. Danish butter has been reduced an price; to 121s owing to competition from sfew Zealand. The cheese market is firmi «nd' speculative at prices ranging from 59s ■to 60s. The themp market is quiet and =fimall business is doing; good fair Wellington £3O 10s, January to March shipments £3O 10s. There is a better demand Jor cocksfoot seed; bright clean New Zealand 52s cwt. Wool prospects are fayourable, and there is general confidence -an the maintenance of present prices.
