Per Press Association. 33LENHEIM, November 3. Yesterday afternoon the engine of the train from Picton to Blenheim was knocked off tie line at Tuamarina by a slip which came down the hillside with the approach ofj the train. The passengers were transferred; to. another train, and the service was slightly disorganised, but the slip has now been cleared away. :. CHRISTCHURCH, November 5. A sad "tramway fatality occurred on the Sumner line about half past 5 o'clock this afternoon, resulting in the instantaneous death of a young man named. Thomas George Marsh, conductor of the tram. Mr Marsh was in the act of crossing from one car to another when he slipped and fell between' the two cars. The back car ran over him and his skull and spine were fractured and his body badly bruised, death being instantaneous. "The tram which consisted of a steam engine and two cars was running about eigit miles an hour at the time of the accident.
[The deceased was about 30 years of age and was the eldest son of Jlr T. March, of Timaru. • The familv are well known, and the greatest sympathy will be extended to them bv the sudden and very sad bereavement.]
