GREENFIELD SETTLEMENT,recentIy acquired under the Land for Settlements Act from the Trustees of • the late James Smith, has a reputation for mixed, farming. It is situated on the Clutha River, about midway between Lawrence and Balclutha. It can be reached from Lawrence, .Waitahuna, and, Balclutha, where houses: and vehicles may be hired. -A steamer runs up the river from Balclutha twice a week. Accommodation may be obtained at vale. A guide (Mr Hadfieldj will be available at the Homestead , every , morning from Monday, 20th March, toSaturday, Bth April, 1905;: to show intending applicants over, the Settlement..
