THE RAM FAIR.

The annual ram fair under the auspicet of the Timaru A. and P. Association was held on the Show Grounds yesterday. Tht entry was eomewbat smaller than last year, this being due probably to two causes, ont being that many of the surplus rams have been drafted away for the North Island, 'the other that many fanners are busy with ' their harvest. The latter reason will alsc 'apply ta the somewhat' smaller attendance of buyers. About 660 rams were catalogued under 140 entries, and of the total numbei about 23G were Border Leicesters, nearly as - many English Leicesters, 50 LincoJis, 4C Shropshires, 25 Merinos, 47 Corriedales, about 40 crbssbreds, and one pen of RomThe sellers of Border Leicesters were Messrs D.
