Per PrtSo • Association. AUCKLAND, January 19. An elderly man named-W. Stephen Hujtchintf, representative of, the Australian Widows' Fund and-Xife. Assurance Society, committed suicide.by shooting himself at the Central' Hotel to-day. Although not a lodger there, he was frequently about the hotel, and went into a bathroom and shot himself. -He' was taken to the hospital, where after an operation he sue-' cum bed. For tKe past five months deceased, who was never known to drink, had been staying at the Salvation Army's People's *Palace, where it is stated he is behind with his, payments, and .asked and., was given time' in which to pay. - ..NAPIER, Janusuy 19. . January 7th, and it is supposed that he accidentally fell into the harbour.
