The following teams have been picked for the inter-island match: South Island.-Full back, Booth (Otago); three-quarters, Gilray and Bennet (Otago), and Black (Southland); five-eighths, Deans (Canterbury) and Stead (Southland); halfback, King (Otago); wing forward, Porteous (Otago) ; forwards, Spiers and Casev (Otago), Fanning. Brunsden and Roddick (Canterbury). Corbett and Learmont (West Coast). North Island.—Full back, Furrie (Manawatu) : three-quartfrs, Wallace (Wellington), Hunter (Taranaki). and" D. McGregor (Wellington) ; five-eighths.' Mynott (Taranaki) and Erekana (Hawke's" Bay) ; half, Roberts (Wellington) ; wing forward, Guy (Taranaki): forwards, P. McMinn (Manawatu), Watkins (Wellington), Glasgow and Glen (Taranaki), Cross (Wellington), Seeling and Nicholson (Auckland). The match will be played at Dunedin on the 24th inst-. SOUTH CANTERBURY y. NORTH OTAGO. The following have been chosen to represent South Canterbury against North Otago on Thursday:—Edwards, Pritcliard, Boys, Rattray, O'Leary, Thomas, Opie, Mara, Fraser. Langrish, Carlton, Budd, O'Callaghan, Wall. Husband; emergencies, back Priest; forward, Percy. The team leave by the 7.20 a.m. train on Thursday.
BRIEF, BUT POSITIVE. Mr Alexander Miller, the well-known builder, of Roslyn, is not lavish with words. He says what he has to say briefly and to the point.
