Per Press Association. GISBORNE, September 9. At the Supreme Court George Phillips for forgery was admitted to probation for two years and to pay costs. A verdict was returned for defendant in the alleged libel case,-McKinnon v. Barry. NAPIER, September 9. At the Supreme Court, Charles Fred Williams, the licenses of the Upper Mohaka Hotel, who pleaded guilty to a. charge of sheep stealing, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. In the Divorce Court to-day the application of Olivea Stone for a divorce from Charles John Stone on the grounds of

habitual drunkenness and desertion was refused, the evidence not being sufficient to establish the claim. In the case of Kate Kit-kails (petitioner) v. Robert Wesley Nicknl's (respondent), petition for divorce on the grounds of habitual drunkenness, neglect and cruelty, a. deere? nisi was granted to be made absolute in three months.
