The imports, to Sydney during the„past year were valued at £20,500,000, a decrease of £750,000, and the exports at £20,450,QOO an increase of £3,350,000,, compared with the previous year. In both instances about £850,000 should be deducted'to cover the amount of transhipments' of gold received at'tho Sydney Mint, amounting to 723,3410z, compared with . 675,8320z last year, ■; . MELBOURNE, January 4. The State revenue for the half year is £58,000 less than the previous and corresponding half-year, the amount returned bv, :the ; Commonwealth showing a faliingoif of £73,000. The gold received at the - Mint during this year amounted to 819,7140z, against. 784,7460z during the previous year. PERTH, January 2. The gold received at the Mint during 1903 amounted to 1,457,6620z. j
