ASHBURTOX LIVE STOCK MARKET. At tha Ashburton yards on Tuesday abont 15,000 iheep and 70 head of cattle ■were yarded. Tha cattle trade was dull throughout, only a few of the butchers being present. The fit *heep sale was very doll, no exporters and few butchers operating. The store sheep sale was very dragging, many of the lines being passed in- The attendance of farmers and others was good, with Tery little inclination for doing business. THE ADDIXUTO.V STOCK MARKKf. Per Press Association. CFIRISTCHURCH, April 15. Addicgton market for the day comprised 15,000 sheep, 370 cattle, 340 pigs. Cattle—The <iua!ity of the fat cattle was UJ> to the usual standard, and there was a fair demand at about last week's rates. Steers brought £6 to £lO 17s 6d. heifers £5 17s 6.1 to £3 17s 6d, cows £5 17s 6d to £8 10s.

Sheep—-L ue yanimg of -at sheep was larger thau usual, and included a number of good freezing tines, and a few tots of specially prime nmuity. Pigs—The entry of pigs was smaller thtn usual, but the demand was correspondingly poor in conseiiuerce of several of the larger buyers having large shipments of Xorth Island pigs due to arrive nest day. Oats—Owing- to the holidays very little has been passing. Shippers are not anxious to operate at present prices. There is a fair demand for milling. Prime milling is quoted at Is 9d to Is lOd, good to best feed Is Td to Is Bd, inferior Is 5d to Is 6£d; sacks extra.
