She has been <anployed in. the New Zealand-Australian frade for about two years, bringing over coal, and taking back kauri timber from Kaxpara. She mil probably finish discharging oa Saturday and leave this port for Kaipara direct. The New Zealand Shipping Company's s.s. Tongariro arrived yesterday morning from Port Chalmers to load meat and wool, and, owing to the Main wharf being fully occupied by the s.ss. Norfolk and Karamea, she could not be bronght in, and as her time is limited she coald not afford to ■wait, and was therefore ordered on to Lyttelton. arrangements being made for the Karamea to take the cargo booked for her, or the bulk of it. Extra difficultv was occasioned by the fact that the Norfolk still requires a day or two to complete her loading, and that" while the wharf will hold the Norfolk and Karamea. it is not able to accommodate the Norfolk and the longer Tongariro; otherwise the Karamea would nave given way to the latter.
