Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 27 . The Harbour Board resolved to draw the Governor's attention to the completion of Admiralty House and the Admiral's refusal to occupy it, and to ask the Government to take it over, arranging the best terms possible. At the sitting of the Electoral Commission to-day, further evidence was taken in regard to the various charges against the Registrar of Electors. Very little progress was made, a great part" of the time being occupied by the examination of the lists of names submitted, and discussions as to the method of dealing with them. The enquiry was adjourned till Mondav.

Another conference of delegates from local bodies was held to-day on the infections diseases and hospital* question. The resolution of the last conference in favour of placing the hospital in the grounds of the general hospital was confirmed, and it was decided to forward the resolutions passed on the question to the Minister for Public Health, and that the Minister be requested to give effect to the wishes of the ratepayers on the. question. MARTON. March 27. The ratepayers carried loans yesterday for extension of gas mains, erection of Town Hall, Fire Brigade station, and drainage works. PALMERSTON NORTH, March 27. L. J. Meyrjck and Jas. Keen have been committed for trial at the Wellington Supreme Court- on a charge of assault and robbery from the person. The informant, W. Skeggs, alleges that he was struck and knocked down by Keen, who held him while Meyrick rifled his pockets. Accused reserved their defence. WELLINGTON, March 27.

With reference to the proposed tour of a football team from New Zealand through New South Wales and Queensland, the secretary of the New South Wales Union cables to the secretary of the New Zealand Union :—" Propose first match vour team July 18th and last on August 15th. The representatives of the Melrose Borough Council and of the City Council have .attached their signatures to an agreement embodying the terms on which the two bodies have agreed to amalgamate and constitute a greater Wellington. The New Zealand and African Steam Ship Company has intimated to the Government that the April steamer under the African steam service contract will be the Norfolk. The loading ports are not yet declared by the contractors, and in any case will not be approved by the Department until the 4th prcx., with a view to give the outports an opportunity of participating in the service by guaranteeing the minimum (300 tons of cargo). Mr P. S. Lawrie, marine superintendent, representing the KoeGham Shipping Company, an influential maritime company in the East, has completed final arrangements for the purchase of the Union Company's four vessels, the Waihora. Rotorua, Janet Nicoll and Omapere. The Waihora, already on the way to Newcastle, will load 2000 tens of coal for Penang, and then proceed to take up Iter running in the new service. The three other steamers will shcrtlv leave for the East.

CHRISTCHURCH. March 27. At a meeting of the Canterbury centre of the Swimming Association to-night it was decided that L. Penrose and F. Drake should represent Canterbury at the championship meeting at Auckland. The Hon. C: H. Mills visited the Midland Railway tn-day, and will return to Wellington to-morrow night.

DUNEDIN. March 27. The Minister of Public Works accompanied by several members of Parliament, after inspecting the route of the CatlinsSeaward Bush railway, south of Owaka, arrived at Fortrose to'-day. The Minister was waited on by deputations during the journey, and the need for railway communication was pointed out.
