FAREWELL!
No more m sweet Four Fathom Bay will sound his pleasant voice; No more his fiddle strike the strain that made all hearts rejoice; No more will shine the Icve-light from the father's blue deep, For God has dimmed their brightness, and in death he calm'.y sleeps. H:s ase lies :'a the corner and the saw hangs on the wall, But never, as night's shadows close, they'll see his figure tali. Erect in carriage, strong in health, the daily duties dace, Corce wending through the homestead that his arduous toil had won.
The dogs, poor creatures, miss him, for his cheery voice eo more Direc;s them in their duties on the hills or round- the shore. No other voice arouses them its summons to obey, They seem to watt expectant that he'll call again some day. Ah! ncb'.e heart, true, trusty friend, thy wife and children grieve. But ever to their loving hearts thy memory will cleave. Seme other souls are sorrowing, and mourn, as welt they may, The sudden cail that summoned thee from sweet Four Fathom Bay. VT. ANGELO JONES.
