THE AUBURN MURDER.

The chief witness .gave sensational evidence in reference to a conversation among the .enscused and a fourth man who has not jet been arrested, whereat arrangements were made for a number of burglaries, including a burglary at the hotel where Constable Long was murdered and utilising a. racing mare to convey the spoil. The witness alleged that he was asked to take a hand in the burglaries but declined. The taking of evidence is nnfinished. The police, who seized the racing mare, ascertained that the owners had lent her to Grand and a companion on the night of the murder.

Digby Grand, who is a notorious criminal, was remanded to-day in connection with the recent extensive burglary at Paddington.
