Acting .on .admissions made by | j Woolford, the police also arrested two | I other men named Grand and Yeomans. Received 11.26 p.sn., January 26th. Woolford, when arrested, confessed that jirior to the murder oi Long the other wo prisoners visited the lhatel. He gave them an impression of the key of the .safeWoolford, Digby Grand, and Yeomans were to-day charged with murdering Con--1 st&fcle Long. The chief witness .gave sensational evidence in reference to a conversation among the .enscused and a fourth man who has not jet been arrested, whereat arrangements were made for a number of burglaries, including a burglary at the hotel where Constable Long was murdered and utilising a. racing mare to convey the spoil. The witness alleged that he was asked to take a hand in the burglaries but declined. The taking of evidence is nnfinished. The police, who seized the racing mare, ascertained that the owners had lent her to Grand and a companion on the night of the murder.

Digby Grand, who is a notorious criminal, was remanded to-day in connection with the recent extensive burglary at Paddington.
