In the inter-state cricket match, Victoria in their first innings scored 207 runs; Bruce 38, McAlister 37, and Noonan 29. New South Wales have lost no wickets for 141 runs; Duff, not out, 61, Trumper, not out, 77. THE ENGLISHMEN V. MARLBOROUGH. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, January 24. The match, Lord Hawke's team against Marlborough 22, was resumed this morning. Rain fell over night, and the wicket was very soft. Bottrell (2), Neal (3), Trolove (run out, 0), Dryden (4), Griffiths |9), were put out in quick succession. Nine wickets were down for 14, Gane (9), Horton, stumped Taylor, (0), quickly followed. Riddell <3) "was the next victim—--12 wickets for 16. Coleman and Clifford then made a short stand, until Warner caught the former—l 3 for 30; Clifford (10) was the next to go--14 for 33. At 12.30 Marlborough's last wicket fell with the score at 59. The English bowling was simply unplayable, Thompson's performance being sixteen overs, three runs, fifteen wickets. Marlborough fol- | lowed on. and at the luncheon adjournment had lost one wicket for 13.
