Proposed amendments of the duties on tea, sugar, starch, and tobacco were ne'gatived. The Federal Bouse of Representatives struck out the provisions in the Electoral Bill requiring a voter to vote for the full number of candidates to be'.elected to the Senate, and tie contingent vote for the election of member <of ;the-House of Representatives.
