BOWLING.
Three rinks from the Ashburton Bowling Club played a match-with our local bowlers on the Timaru green yesterday afternoon. Play started at 2 p.m., and at the finish of the game the Timaru men had a substantial majority of 25 points to their credit. The green was in very good order, and the game all through was a most enjoyable one. At the end of the match the visitors were supplied with some welcome refreshments. At the 7th head the score stood —Timaru 29, Ashburton 12 ; at the 14th head, Timaru 51, Ashburton 36. I The following were the players and total scores:— • TIMARU. ASHBURTON. No. 2 Rink.
