The Federal House of Representatives negatived the Government, proposal to remove sulphate of copper from the free list. Sufficient will be produced shortly locally to meet all requirements. The Government has consented to consider a suggestion to make liquid fuel free of duty. . The duty on cement, has been faxed at 9d per cwt., and on earthenware and brownware at 20 per cent.
